Beaches of Evans Head

From the break of dawn, surfers are out vying for the perfect wave, while beach-goers stretch out along the sandy shores. Airforce Beach is the go-to for beach anglers, dog-owners and 4WDs, while Bundjalung National Park has a string of surf beaches bounded by untouched bushland.

There’s a whole lot to do in Bundjalung National Park. Paddle Evans River and Jerusalem Creek, surf the many beaches or swim in the rockpools. Hike to a lookout during whale migration season, get your heart rate up mountain biking, or relax at one of the many picnic spots.

Nightcap National Park

Just over an hour, north of Evans Head, is an ancient World Heritage-listed rainforest, Nightcap National Park. It’s a place where waterfalls and creeks give way to lush forests that are just begging to be explored. Strap on your hiking boots and hit the many trails.  

 

Yamba

A laid-back beachside town that has the surf world buzzing. From pristine beaches to the estuary’s calm waters, there is a lot of fun to be had on the water. One of Yamba’s biggest drawcards is Angourie Point, a world-famous surf break, and it’s all only a 50-minute drive from Evans Head.
